Registration: Climb Mt. Sunapee (10-06-2018 10:45 am - 03:45 pm)

Join Neil B. and Alan V. for a leisurely hike to the summit of Mt. Sunapee. We'll enjoy the fall colors, which should be approaching their peak. We’ll hike the two mile (one way) Summit Trail, an elevation gain of approximately 1600 feet. If there’s time and interest, we’ll make a side trip to the Lake Solitude overlook, an additional 1-1/2 miles round trip. This is a “moderate” hike, OK for novice hikers or even fit beginners. We’ll have lunch on the summit. After the hike we'll likely go out for an early dinner near Sunapee. Bring a lunch and/or snacks, water, sunscreen, sturdy footwear, and layered clothing. It could be cool, especially at the summit. We’ll meet in front of Sunapee Lodge. The lodge is located at the top of the main parking area at the end of the Sunapee Access Road (which may also be labeled Rt. 103B) off Rt. 103 in Newbury, NH.

From Boston and points south, take I-93 to I-89 north just before Concord, NH. Follow I-89 to exit 9. Turn right on Rt. 103 west, and follow the route 10+ miles to the traffic circle at the junction of Rt. 103B. Turn right on the Access Road, and follow to the end. From the north, follow GPS directions to the junction of Rts. 103 and 103B or Sunapee Access Road in Newbury, NH. Allow 2-2.5 hours driving time from the Boston area. (Check your GPS or Google maps to be sure.) Meeting time: 10:45 a.m. Watch for updates as the date approaches. For further details, email Neil: b e n j 5 8 [a t] y a h o o [d o t] c o m.
