Welcome to New England's leading LGBT Outdoors Club!

The club is an inclusive lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) club and welcomes friends and family.  To learn more about us, click here.  To view upcoming trips, click here.

CMC is an all-volunteer club that strives to create a relaxed environment for people to experience the outdoors together and come together as a community.  Members help run the club and can volunteer to lead trips and help out at club events.  CMC members lead a wide variety of activities, such as camping, cycling, hiking, kayaking, skiing, walking, and other outdoor and educational activities.  Club events are open to members and nonmembers, and activities range anywhere from an easy garden walk to a strenuous backpacking trip.

We welcome people of all abilities and backgrounds, so there's no need to feel intimidated if you're new to an activity.  Of course, be mindful of your physical abilities as they relate to a particular activity. Upcoming Trips & Events CMC hosts a series of club sponsored events throughout the year. Events are a way of bringing club members together and getting to know one another while at the same time enjoying the outdoors.

The club hosts 6 lage events.  In Spring, the club hosts Spring Activities Day and Spring Camping Jamboree Weekend, in Summer, the club hosts another Jamboree and a Beach Day Party, and in Autumn, Fall Camping Jamboree and Fall Activities Day.  In late fall, the club holds its Annual Meeting.  Members are encouraged to lend a hand to help make each event successful. "Sturgis Haskins had a huge impact on my life in creating the Chiltern Mountain Club.  Years ago,  I found that Chiltern was a safe place to come to as I was going the process of accepting my gay identity and therefore my identity period.  Chiltern is a place to meet and hang out with others who share a common bond of life."  -Bruce F., Rhode Island

"Hello from Mongolia! Just looked through some awesome pics of day hikes, bike rides and weekend camp-outs with the awesome Chiltern members and thought I should tell you all just how thankful I am to have had those experiences. Can't wait to do it again!"  -Love N., Mongolia
